The house is a harmonious combination between traditional and modern features, where people can connect and mingle with nature.

This unique house is called Oldmeetsnew house, has an area of 148 m2, located in Tra Vinh city. This is the home of a family of 5 members.

The idea when designing a home, homeowners want to create a friendly space, close to nature. Where people can avoid the hustle and bustle of the city, return to moments of peace and relaxation.
Before embarking on the implementation, the architects have carefully studied the location of the land as well as the idea of the owner to create a green living space, in harmony with nature.
Accordingly, Oldmeetsnew House is inspired by rural houses with traditional three parts, 7 modern sections, including three main areas in the center and two bedrooms on the sides. These areas are located parallel to the adjacent open land to take advantage of the wind and natural light.
The gaps between the tiles help the house to welcome natural light.
Influenced by the local ancient architecture, architect Dang Duc Hoa and Nguyen Viet Khoa (Block Architects) designed the house with both traditional features (mainly in the structure and materials), and having Modern features (interior) exactly as its Old and New names.
Behind the brick wall is a flexible layer of glass doors that open and close, ensuring the house is airy but still helps avoid windy days.
A simple bedroom, with glass doors, rustic brick walls or wood paneling, feels like "old and new".
The toilet is modernly designed with bright gray wall tiles.
To create unity, the roof is also covered with tiles with gaps alternating like walls around the house. Above the tile roof is a layer of glass-plastic corrugated iron.

Seen from above, the house looks like separate blocks assembled. The unique design contrasts with the traditional brick housing. It is the design team's metaphor for the relationship between the old and new generations, private and common in a family. Above all, the project aims to create a connection between members, a peaceful home in the bustling modern life.
